Global Sources Mobile Electronics opens today
Meet the new 5G AIoT era

Hong Kong SAR, October 18, 2019 Global Sources Mobile Electronics opens today at AsiaWorld-Expo, a trade show featuring more than 3,700 booths of charging products, mobile speakers and earphones, wearable electronics, smartphones and tablets, protective cases and even repair tools, accessories and services – everything needed to drive new business opportunities in global trade.

Welcoming the era of 5G and the Internet of Things (IoT), the Mobile Electronics show features AIoT Park, showcasing key mainland China firms Space Holding group, Beidou Industrial Research Institute, Beidou satellite communication industry leader Shouxin Tongda, and live product demos from Insta360, the holder of over 70% market share in the panoramic camera business.

Global Sources has also brought together smart home industry leaders such as Orvibo, CoolKit, Shenzhen Home Smart Tech, Shenzhen Dituo Electronic, BroadLink and Vstarcam to create a one-stop smart home sourcing experience, adding connected home appliances to the product mix and exploring the boundless possibilities of applying the IoT in daily life. In the show’s conference program, 5G & IoT – Enabling Innovation for Tomorrow offers an in-depth understanding of the latest development in the industry.

Audio continues to play an important role at the Mobile Electronics. In addition to 600 booths of audio products including headsets, Bluetooth speakers, True Wireless Stereo (TWS), professional audio products, home audio systems, cables and accessories, Global Sources and China Audio Industry Association (CAIA) are jointly holding the “Golden Ear Choice" Awards Presentation to recognize outstanding products certified by experts as they meet the desired standard.

The Global Sources Innovation Awards Presentation is also scheduled to take place this October and aims to promote exceptional inventions and applications, and to encourage local and overseas companies to pursue innovation and excellence. There are nine prize categories which include Portable Audio, Charging Products, Wearable Electronics, Connected Appliances, Mobile Phones & Tablets, Cases & Covers, Smart Translators, Startups, and Tech Gifts. Companies, experts and media from mainland China and abroad were invited to serve as judges, making the Awards a major event for the industry.

In line with the strong demand for electronic gifts in the market, Global Sources has set up Asia’s one and only exhibition dedicated to electronic gifts, gadgets and corporate premiums. The new Tech Gifts show features 400 booths displaying electronic technology-based gift products, novelty objects and high-end custom gifts. The new show has four product areas: Branding & Exclusive Products, Personal Electronic Gifts, Tech & Gadgets and Corporate Gifts.

Asia's largest exhibition of smart hardware and retail solutions - Startup Launchpad
Startup Launchpad helps mid- to late-stage hardware and retail startups solve market distribution issues. Startup Launchpad is co-located with Global Sources Mobile Electronics and features 200 startups from more than 20 countries and regions such as Japan, South Korea, India and Thailand, demonstrating their innovative electronic products across five categories: At Home, At Work, On the Go, Mind & Body, and Play & Learn.

“Future of Lifestyle” is the theme for conferences and workshops at this October’s Startup Launchpad, with guests from Google, Kickstarter, Indiegogo, Uber, AIA, the Peninsula Hotel and Foxconn Technology. After the show, a “Greater Bay Area Ecosystem Tour” is scheduled to take participants on a two-day visit to Shenzhen.

Moreover, the fourth Startup Launchpad Investment Competition (SLIC) is scheduled to be held in mid-October. The top ten finalists from mainland China, Hong Kong, Canada, the United States, Indonesia, Japan, Sweden and Thailand will compete for prizes worth HK$500,000.

       such as home automation, home monitoring and smart lighting systems.
