Global Sources Fashion trade show opens today

HONG KONG, April 27, 2019 Global Sources Fashion, Hong Kong’s largest fashion sourcing event, opens today at AsiaWorld-Expo and runs through April 30. With fashion accessories, footwear, fabrics, underwear and apparel all under one roof, it is an unmissable industry event for sourcing professionals from around the world.

The show offers a complete ecosystem and O2O (online-to-offline) platform for the global fashion industry, from buyers to suppliers to designers, technology vendors, startups, students and service providers, where participants can promote, trade, collaborate, learn and share.

Global Sources Fashion hosts Hong Kong’s largest collections of bags and luggage, hosiery, sports fashion and sportswear, alongside extensive selections in scarves, gloves, underwear and swimwear. Show highlights this April include the Fashion Tech Zone seminars and exhibition area, Rising Designer Wholesale Zone and related seminars, as well as the 3Rs Waste Reduction Shoe Design Competition.

Two new exhibition areas make their debut today: the Datang Pavilion, representing Zhuji, China’s sock production hub, and the Yangjiang eCommerce Pavilion, alongside existing geographical pavilions for Xiamen, Vietnam and India. The show features verified suppliers from mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Vietnam, Taiwan, Bangladesh, South Korea, Indonesia, Macau, Thailand and the Philippines.

Thousands of top buyers are expected to attend the show, including sourcing teams from Auchan, Best Buy, Carrefour, Fossil, Hong Kong Disneyland, K-Swiss, Li & Fung, Marks & Spencer, Quiksilver, Swarovski, Target and Tesco.

Global Sources Fashion highlights include:

 ·  NEW Rising Designer Wholesale Zone – showcasing unique creations from young and up-and-coming designers in Hong Kong and other regions, providing more opportunities for outstanding new designers through fashion shows, workshops and visits.
 ·  Fashion Tech Zone – highlights tech-enabled fashion products, with fashion and electronics exhibitors and start-up companies, as well as special seminars and product demonstrations.
 ·  Trends Spotlight powered by Pantone – SS2020 color forecasts with matching exhibitors’ products, Fashion Tech Zone product display, and Fashion Online Store display.
 ·  3Rs Waste Reduction Shoe Design Competition 2019 – A footwear design contest focused on the “3 Rs” (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) in partnership with Shanghai Donghua University and the Federation of Hong Kong Footwear. After online and onsite voting, the 10 designers with the most votes will receive production funding for work focusing on creative and practical eco-friendly design, and go through to the competition final at the October 2019 Global Sources Fashion show.
 ·  Hong Kong Denim Festival Winners and Memories of Sham Shui Po – co-organized with the Hong Kong Design Institute and Hong Kong & Kowloon Textile Wholesalers Association to enhance Hong Kong's image as an international fashion and creative city, and increase public appreciation for the creative industries. Sham Shui Po is the birthplace of Hong Kong’s textiles industry and a source of inspiration for many Hong Kong designers.
 ·  Fashion Art Design Workshop – co-organized with the Hong Kong 3D Printing Association and Hong Kong Fashion Artists Association, allowing participants to experience the fun and sense of achievement in creating fashion.
 ·  Fashion Parades – the hottest designs from exhibitors, rising designers, and students from PolyU ITC, SCAD and THEi, plus Analyst’s Choice selections—all modeled live on the catwalk.
 ·  OC Fashion Week – California-based design platform OC Fashion Week is scheduled to bring some 50 American designers to see the show and set up exclusive research conferences, sourcing meetings and visits to promote fashion design exchanges and sourcing opportunities between mainland China and the United States.
 ·  Conference Program – offering attendees invaluable insights on upcoming fashion trends and sourcing tips from fashion and business experts. Conference tracks include New Era • New Fashion, Online & Mobile Retail Strategies and Fashion Trends & Sourcing.

Comprehensive services for online and Amazon sellers
A wide range of services aims to help enhance the buying experience of online and Amazon sellers and enable them to source more efficiently. This includes more than 600 exhibitors who accept small orders, an Online Retail 101 conference highlighting eCommerce strategy and marketing techniques, and a special fashion parade on what is hot on Amazon, as well as the Global Sources Summit. Voted Best Amazon Conference in the 2017 Seller Awards, this three-day conference helps intermediate and advanced Amazon and e-commerce sellers source from Asia.

The GlobalSources.com app enables buyers to shortlist exhibitors, find booths, take pictures and then follow exhibitors after the show. The At the Show newsletter provides daily reports and live videos on the hottest products.
