EDN-China reveals 2014 Innovation Awards winners
Dr. Li Tingwei of Broadcom and professor Zhou Ligong of Guangzhou Zhiyuan Electronics named
Innovators of the Year 2014
SHANGHAI, June 27, 2014 – EDN-China, an electronics design publication of Global Sources' (NASDAQ: GSOL) joint venture, eMedia Asia Limited, named Dr. Li Tingwei, Broadcom's President of Greater China and Senior VP of Sales, and professor Zhou Ligong, Founder of Guangzhou Zhiyuan Electronics, as co-recipients of the Innovator of the Year 2014 at the annual Innovation Awards presentation ceremony in Shanghai yesterday.
The two innovators are highly respected within the industry. Zhou, Founder of Guangzhou Zhiyuan Electronics, is widely recognized for turning his personal and corporate innovations quickly into market success, fulfilling the urgent needs of mainland China's electronics industry. In addition to being a renowned pioneer in MCU development, he has successfully expanded into the areas of test and measurement, embedded industrial control, Internet of Things (IoT), and power modules.
Since his appointment as Broadcom's President for Greater China last year, Li has shown outstanding leadership that has brought closer collaboration with prominent OEMs and carriers, achieving innovations and market share growth in the fields of broadband connectivity, wireless, mobile and automotive networking.

Innovating for the future
In the past, the Innovation Awards bestowed Best Product Awards in nine categories: test and measurement, power devices and modules, development tools and software, programmable logic, analog and mixed-signal ICs, embedded systems, communication and networking, microprocessors and DSPs, and passive components and sensors.
As part of the Innovation Awards' 10th anniversary, EDN-China has introduced special awards this year to recognize outstanding companies which have received the most accolades in the past decade, including:
EDN-China has also introduced award categories that honor companies and technologies that are expected to have significant impacts on the development of mainland China's electronics industry in the years to come: the Top 10 Most Influential Technologies for the Future and Top 10 Companies with Strongest Sustainable Development Capability.
More than 130 companies joined this year's Awards program, with around 800,000 registered online users and readers participating in the voting process. To ensure the Awards' professionalism, authoritativeness and objectivity, all entries underwent a stringent review by EDN-China's analysts, and were selected via online voting and adjudication by industry experts.
