China Sourcing Fair exhibitors donate 8 truckloads of product samples under Care & Share charity program
Global Sources' donation drive a record-breaking success this season
HONG KONG, June 17, 2010 - Global Sources' (NASDAQ: GSOL) Care & Share charity program showed increasingly generous results, 8 truckloads of product samples were donated by 350 exhibitors at the April China Sourcing Fairs (http://www.chinasourcingfair.com) in Hong Kong.
Representing the biggest volume of donations yet for Global Sources' successful program, the products were given to the non-profit Crossroads Foundation (http://www.crossroads.org.hk) for distribution to people affected by natural disasters, conflict and poverty around the world. Items donated at the April Fairs include furniture, home products, baby & children's products and electronic appliances.
Global Sources' Chairman and CEO, Merle A. Hinrich, said: "Our exhibitors continue to show that business people can be kind benefactors. Once again, they demonstrated they have a big heart, with record donations to the Care & Share charity program.
"These items can help make life brighter for the people whom Crossroads serves. We are truly thankful to our exhibitors for opening up to those who are less fortunate."
Director of the Crossroads Foundation, Sally Begbie, said: "The donated items will be rushed to those who need them, and in many cases such products can be more effective even than financial donations. The Foundation's immense gratitude goes out to Global Sources and its exhibitors. Cooperating in Care & Share continues to be a very satisfying experience."
