Chief Executive China / Stanford Business School Executive Development Program held in Beijing

Chinese executives now have the opportunity to communicate face-to-face with professors from Stanford Graduate School of Business without going abroad. Executive Development Program, which is jointly organized by Chief Executive China, Global Source's renowned business management magazine and Stanford Graduate School of Business. The first module kicked off in Beijing on May 23, 2009.

This is the first time Stanford Graduate School of Business has offered such kind of program in China. Simultaneous translation will be provided to help Chinese executives better understand the seminar. Interactive activities and discussions will also be arranged to enhance communication between Chinese executives and Stanford professors.

Executive Development Program adopts weekend study mode and is divided into four modules offered on four Saturdays. Executives can exchange ideas directly with Stanford professors about the following subjects: Organization Innovation, Established Market-Focused Organization, Growth Strategies of Entrepreneurial Companies, and Supply Chain Strategies. Upon the completion of study, participants will be awarded management certificates by Stanford Graduate School of Business.

The first module: Organization Innovation: from Entrepreneurial Start-Up to Mature Enterprise was hosted by Professor Glenn R. Carroll, Professor of Organizations at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Professor Carroll is a leading professor in the field of organizational ecologies. His lecture consists of four sections, including Organization Innovation – Entrepreneur and Entrepreneurial Starting-Up, Organization Innovation – Promote Growth through Designs, Organization Innovation in Mature Industry, and Organization Innovation – Opportunity brought by Enterprise Image. The lecture covered different phases of enterprises development such as the inception period of enterprises, getting on track, and moving towards maturity. Professor Carroll's lecture revolved around a series of cases studies he researched to help enterprises find solutions to practical management problems.
