Global Sources announced the opening of the 14th International IC-China Conference & Exhibition (IIC-China), the only systems design event in mainland China, at the Xian Greenland PICO International Convention and Exhibition Center yesterday. It was the inaugural event in Xi'an, one of the four largest information technology centers in China.

Global Sources said they chose Xi'an for the 14th IIC-China because it has become the fourth largest electronic information industry base in China, after the Pearl River Delta, Yangtze Delta and Bohai Bay. Xi'an has advantages in terms of technology, talent, location, and technology of communications. Many world famous IC design companies and research centers have settled in Xian, and formed a complete industry chain linking IC design, manufacturing, packing, testing, semiconductor materials and equipment supplies.

Today, there are 1,063 IT enterprises in Xi'an High-tech Zone, including big-name companies including Infineon Technologies. Top international and local technology companies exhibiting at the IIC-China Xi'an event include Linear Technology, Richardson Electronics Trading (Shanghai), Shenzhen Secom Telecom, Texas Instruments, Torex Semiconductor Device (Shanghai), TriQuint Semiconductor and Uni-Trend Electronic (Shanghai). It is evidence that the top international companies have confidence in the strength and potential of Xi'an's IC industry.

IIC-China, the only systems design events in mainland China, has been successfully held for 13 years in China. The 14th IIC-China that opened yesterday has become one of the most influential and forward-looking events in the nation, showcasing innovative products and newest technologies.

The IIC-China Xi'an event should strengthen communications and cooperation between the Xi'an's IC industry and the global IC industry. IIC-China Xian also aims to connect great minds, original ideas and new technologies from all over the world.
