Most Top Ten Global Semiconductor Companies to Meet in Chengdu

International IC-China Conference & Exhibition (IIC-China), the world's largest IC and semiconductor design event, is scheduled to be held at the Century City New International Convention & Exposition Center on February 28 and 29. Intel, Samsung, Toshiba and other top ten global semiconductor companies will meet on the occasion. Chengdu High-tech Zone and Global Sources held a signing ceremony yesterday afternoon. IIC-China is an event that aims to exchange the newest electronics information and technology and exhibit products. "Many key indexes of the Chengdu exhibitions are at record high, with more than 400 leading technology suppliers showcasing their most advanced chip design technology," a representative from Chengdu High-tech Zone said, "Their presence in Chengdu would take Chengdu High Tech Zone another step further, enhancing Chengdu's strong and leading position in IC industry in Middle-West China." Mark A. Saunderson, president of Global Sources' Electronics Business Unit, predicted that the demand for chips will exceed US$100 billion by 2010. |
